The Alliance for a Living Ocean is pleased to announce the 8th Annual LBI Longboard Classic will take place on Long Beach Island on August 13, 2016.
The LBI Longboard Classic will be held at the 16th Street Beach area in Ship Bottom, NJ 08008
The event is named the “Classic” because only vintage longboards will be allowed, and the contestants will be scored by classic contest criteria such as noserides, hanging ten, cheater fives, dropknee turns, fin first takeoffs, spinners, length of ride and cross-stepping style. Boards should be pre 1967 and of a lenght 3 feet over your own height. No leashes, and no board modifications.
Our goal this year is to fill up a 48 person bracket for the Open Men's Division so we can create a fair bracket.
The main goal of the event is to raise funds for ALO to continue our mission of maintaining and protecting clean water and a healthy coastal environment. Oh yea and to have a ton of fun while doing it!
